Information Governance, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service

Dear Stephen Cole,

Further to your request for information, about balcony fires, I can
confirm that Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority do not have  a
category for balcony fires. That is not to say that we do not have records
of fires that have started on balconies but we have no search criteria
that would enable us to find any references to balcony / balconies and, to
search all Incident Recording System data exceed the appropriate cost
limit. This is calculated at 18 person hours at £25 per hour.

Therefore please accept this as a refusal notice under section 12 of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Authority has a duty to provide advice and assistance but I have been
unable to identify any way you could narrow your request to be within the
cost limit.

Currently, the cost limit for complying with a request or a linked series
of requests from the same person or group is set at £600 for central
government, Parliament

Officer at the address below within 40 working days. Our complaints
