Data from The Crighton Observatory project
Dear University of Glasgow,
On 18 February this year I wrote directly to Professor Carol Hill, as follows. I received neither an acknowledgement nor a reply.
===============
Dear Professor Hill,
I am the Civil Society Lead for Commitment 3 of the Scottish Open Government Partnership plan. As part of that I am researching the current and past provision of Open Data in Scotland as we work towards a new plan for 2021 and beyond.
One of the case studies which is mentioned in the Resource Pack which accompanied the Scottish Government’s Open Data Strategy 2015 was the Crighton Institute’s Regional Observatory. I remember it well. I wasn’t aware that it had ceased to exist.
I do hope that you can help me.
When the Observatory closed down (in 2017?) what happened to the data from the observatory? Can you point me to where it was archived please?
=================
Can you now treat this as an FOI request and obtain the information that I requested six months ago please?
Yours faithfully,
Ian Watt
The staff of the University of Glasgow, including the Data Protection &
Freedom of Information Office, are now working off-campus. A number of
staff have also temporarily left their university work and research in
order to help the NHS with the public health crisis. University operations

At this time, we cannot provide definitive guidance on response times. If
your request is time sensitive, and is therefore unlikely to be responded
to within your required timescale, please advise if you wish to suspend or
withdraw your request.
Finally, please be assured that we will endeavour, where possible, to
respond to you as soon as we can.
Dear Mr Watt,
Thank you for your email which was received by the University on 11 August
2020 timed 16:21 hours.

Dear Ian Watt,
We apologise for the delay in responding to your FOISA request noted
above.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused severe disruption to University
operations and resources are focused on providing continuity of teaching
and support to the University's student community. Consequently, the
response to your request has been delayed. Please be assured we will
continue to work with the relevant departments across the University to
collate a response as quickly as possible.
Yours sincerely

Dear University of Glasgow,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of University of Glasgow's handling of my FOI request 'Data from The Crighton Observatory project'.
I made this request in 11th August 2020, having previously written directly to Prof Hill and received no reply or acknowledgement.
I received an acknowledgement soon after the request was submitted, then nothing until 9th September when I got an email saying that it was delayed.
Since then two months have passed, during which time no further correspondence as been received,
You have failed to respond to this adequately, ignored legal time limits and failed to keep me updated. Even in the current climate (which most organisations have adapted to) this failure is not acceptable.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...
Yours faithfully,
Ian Watt
