Data collected by Test & Trace

We're waiting for Andrew Long to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear UK Health Security Agency,

When testing positive, or a child you are responsible for test positive for Covid 19, you receive a number of calls from NHS Test and Trace. At the beginning of the call you are informed that the call is being recorded and can be used for Training and Quality Assurance purposes.

Under GDPR consent must be sought for this recording to take place, yet when I asked for it not to be recorded I was informed I had no choice.

Could you please supply me with answers to the following questions:
1) Is there an ability to turn of the recording, if not why?
2) Is consent to record specifically obtained on each call. If not, do you have an exemption under GDPR?
3) How long are these recordings kept and are the subjects informed of their destruction?
4) How are these recording stored and who is responsible for the security of the recordings?
5) what percentage of the calls are used for training?
6) what percentage of the calls are used for Quality Assurance?
7) Are the recordings used for anything other than Training or Quality Assurance?
8) Are the calls provided to anyone outside of Test & Trace?

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Long
