Dear InfoMgr, FinDMT,

Thank you for the information. Your information states that only 2 people have been suspended in 2010 / 2011.

It is surprising that following the reports by Martin Smith around bullying and harassment, the Equality and Human Rights Commission verdict of discrimination of disabled people, the CQC report detailing a catalogue of failures and lack of confidence that officers could improve, and the Anna Klonowski report damning corporate governance that no employees other than an escort and a driver have had time suspended from duties.

Additionally due to the Leader of the council being told of severe DASS budget slippage of a matter of millions and needing additional DASS staff recruitment after accepting generous voluntary redundancy and still no one has spent time suspended from duties as part of any investigation into performance.

The unexpected budget shortfalls now stand at £100,000,000 across the council.

Can you please confirm that this information is correct as any reasonable organisation suffering such criticism from such inspections and investigations would as matter of business practice and human resources management follow procedures which would include suspensions and disciplinary action.

Yours sincerely,

Pete Sheffield
