Dangerous Dogs Act ( as amended)

We're waiting for Alison Green to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Northamptonshire Police,

Please supply figures for the number of dogs seized as a banned breed type under the Dangerous Dogs Act during 2016.

Please also supply the number of dogs seized as a banned breed type who were returned as "not type" prior to any court proceedings for the same time period.

Please supply figures for the number of dogs seized as a banned breed type who were found not guilty in a court for the same time period.

Please also supply figures for each of the above from 1 January 2017 to 1st July 2017

I can confirm that Northamptonshire Police holds the information requested
as follows:

 

Figures for 2016

 

Number of S1 dogs seized by Northamptonshire Police:  7

Number of these dogs assessed and returned to owner, not as S1 type : 
1                                             

Number of dogs seized as S1, typed as S1 and found not guilty in Court.  0

 

Number of S1 dogs exempted back to owners.  3

Number S1 dogs destroyed: 3 (All three pit bulls were abandoned by their
owners as strays. It is an offence to rehome, so they were humanely
destroyed.)

Northamptonshire Police provides a review and appeals procedure within the
terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. If you decide to make an
appeal and, having followed the full process you are still dissatisfied,
