Dear Ms Green,

I write to advise that I am in receipt of your e-mail dated 24.03.09,
regarding dangerous dogs.

This letter confirms that your request has now been passed to our FOI
officers who will review the contents of your request and establish if a)
your request is valid under the FOI Act and b) if any further
clarification is required from you to allow us to progress further.

Regrettably, the number of cases in the queue is unacceptably high at the
moment. We are doing all that we can with the resources available to
reduce the number of cases and therefore the length of time we take to
deal with each case and decision, however, the average turn around time
for a response at present is approximately 10 weeks.

Please accept our apologies for this situation.

While I hope that you will be patient with us on this matter, I would
advise of your right to complain to the Information Commissioner who will
consider the matter. (Further information on the work of the commissioner
is available via [1]www.ico.gov.uk )

reference number 256/09 on any correspondence. Should you wish to contact
us by e-mail, please do so using the mail box

your case under its review procedure (copy attached). If you decide to
request such a review and having followed the Constabulary's full process
you are still dissatisfied, then you have the right to direct your
