Dame Janet Smith Review - Savile and the BBC
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Please could you send me a copy of the Dame Janet Smith Review, redacted where necessary to remove concerns of the police that it interferes with any current investigation.
Please could you send me how many pages are in the report and the chapter headings.
Please could you send me a list of people who have been allowed to view the report at the BBC.
Please could you send me the letter which Dame Janet Smith sent to the BBC when she sent the BBC a copy of the report in May, and please confirm the exact date.
Please send me a copy of emails and correspondence between the BBC and Police regarding the fact that they did not want it published.
Yours faithfully,
Cathy Fox

A while ago I received and published online a large amount of data from the BBC archives on Savile. (
The 3 volumes (A5 size, double sided and not all quality scans) of scanned images of the hardcopy received from the bbc are here :-
http://bit.ly/1Kq7XCm
A cursory glance through shortly after I digitised the hardcopy to share found an early indication that Savile might have been up to no good for a long time :-
http://bit.ly/1P6RiYJ
Which is him being paid 10 guineas 10 shillings in 1965 by the bbc for :-
"
For talking to Arthur Murphy about your ideas on outside activities for teenagers who are unmanageable at home.
"
A spreadsheet for collating comments and any interesting analysis is here if anyone wants to look further and share findings :-

Apologies, a correction to the 'outside activities' link is :-

Also for being paid 25 guineas to be 'filmed with children playing with toys" - for top of the pops? :-

They don't want it released Cathy.
Even if the Met Police hadn't requested a hold be put on it, the BBC would find some way of eeking out the process and putting you off.
Rumour has it that report is going to make some very damaging revelations about the BBC - in particular that it ignored several previous warnings about Savile's conduct, which allowed him to commit further crimes on BBC premises.
