Dear Emily Silcock,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FoI) request received on 1 August. You wrote:
“Many thanks for your response to my previous FOI request.
Could I please have the exact same data as FOI2023 38883, but for 2018 instead of
2019?
[I would like to request the number of applications made for Personal Independence
Payment, at a daily level, for each day in 2019.
To be clear, I would like the total number for each day separately, so a sample dataset
could have every date in 2019 in the first column and the applications in the second
column. The date should be the date that the initial application was made, not the date of
the decision - and I would like all applications, whether or not they were successful.]”
DWP Response
We confirm that we do hold the information you have requested.
A copy of the information is provided in an Excel file in the format requested. The table shows
the number of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) registrations made on each day in
2018 in England and Wales.
Source: PIP Atomic Data Store (ADS)
Notes:
• Figures have been rounded to the nearest 10;
• Figures are for England and Wales only;
• Figures include claims made under normal rules and special rules for terminal illness
and include both new claims and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to PIP reassess-
ment claims;
• This is unpublished data. It should be used with caution, and it may be subject to future
revision.
