This is a Freedom of Information request.

Please provide me with copies of any written communications – including emails – sent by Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn and/or Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner Office staff to Dyfed-Powys Police in connection with the arrest, charging and prosecution of Simon Thomas AM for making indecent images of children.

The time frame for this request is from January 1, 2018 up to the date on which this FOI request was submitted.

The scope of this FOI request includes relevant emails that may have been sent by Dafydd Llywelyn from a personal email address (for example Google or Hotmail) accessed via the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s IT network.

Complaints in relation to Police Officers/Staff below the rank of Chief
Constable are considered by [5]Dyfed Powys Police.

 

The Chief Constable

 

One of the key statutory responsibilities of the Police and Crime
Commissioner is to deal with formal complaints received against the Chief
Constable (former or current).  The Commissioner must decide initially
whether to record the complaint (in line with legislative requirements)
and if so, how to address it.

The Police and Crime Commissioner

In accordance with the provisions that are contained in the Elected Local
