Dear Mr Caswell
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 I refer to your e-mail dated 31 March 2023, requesting:
“I would be grateful if you could please answer these questions relating to the usage of
Dabrafenib + Trametinib in cancer treatment.
A) Over the previous 6 months, how many patients for the following diseases have been
treated with a combination of Dabrafenib + Trametinib:
i) Metastatic Melanoma
ii) Adjuvant Melanoma
iii) BRAF mutated Lung Cancer”
I can now respond as follows:
Please note that due to the small numbers below these have been represented by <5 as to
provide the exact figure may identify individual patients; s.38(1)(b) of the Act refers –
Personal information of at third party.
Please also note that in respect of melanoma and lung, we are unable to differentiate the
BRAF mutation status, and we are unable to tell if a treatment is adjuvant or metastatic on
our system; s.17 of the Act refers – Information not held.
I would be grateful if you could please answer these questions relating to the usage
of Dabrafenib + Trametinib in cancer treatment.
A) Over the previous 6 months, how many patients for the following diseases

Melanoma - <5
NSCLC - <5
Under section 20 (1) of the Act, if you are dissatisfied with the way NHS Grampian has
dealt with your request, you have a right to request a review of our actions and decisions
in relation to your request. Should you be unhappy with the outcome of that review you
have a right to appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner.
A request for review must be made within 40 working days and should, in the first
