D100 A level Grade Admission Statistics
Dear Royal Veterinary College,
I would like to know many places did you give to those who missed their A Level requirements by 1 or two grades for the D100 BVetMed course in the last 3 years.
I would also like to know the percentage of students who got AAA and AAB in their A levels on the D100 course for the last 3 years.
Yours faithfully,
Bhoomika

Dear Bhoomika,
Having conducted a search of the College’s records, we can confirm that it
does hold information relevant to your request and accordingly have
annotated your questions below in red.
I would like to know many places did you give to those who missed their A
Level requirements by 1 or two grades for the D100 BVetMed course in the
last 3 years.
2020/1* 14
2021/2 0
2022/3 5
Note: This is based on a comparison of applicant’s results against the
offer they were given and only considers those applicants who were made an
offer based on 3 A-levels. The RVC makes contextual offers and therefore
some applicants will have received an offer lower than AAA and may have
achieved this offer. These applicants are not represented as missing their
requirements.
*Due to the COVID pandemic, revisions were made to applicant’s grade
post-results day as a result of changes to revert to Teacher Assessed
Grades. It was RVC’s policy to honour places on the course to both those
who were accepted based on their initial grading and those who met the
same grade profiles as a result of the move to Teacher Assessed Grades.
I would also like to know the percentage of students who got AAA and AAB
in their A levels on the D100 course for the last 3 years.
AAA AAB
2020/1 20.8% 8.9%
2021/2 21.7% 0.0%
2022/3 24.5% 6.1%
Note: The RVC accepts many different qualifications, these figure
represent the % of the total applicants who took 3 A-levels and not of the
total incoming cohort. These figures also only represent those applicants
who had firmly accepted an offer to study at the RVC but may include
applicants who did not enrol (either because they were rejected for not
meeting their offer or they failed to enrol for other reasons).
The RVC is satisfied that in making this response, it has complied with
the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act. If, for any reason,
you are not satisfied with this response, you should request an internal
review by writing within 40 working days of receiving this response to The
Chief Operating Officer and Secretary to the Council, Royal Veterinary
College, Hawkshead Lane, North Mymms, Hatfield, AL9 7TA ( Email:
[email address] ), who will ensure that this is dealt with
accordingly. There is no charge for such a request. Should you still be
dissatisfied with the outcome, you have the right to make a complaint via
the Information Commissioner, pursuant to Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act, via The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe
House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF [Tel: 0303 123 1113].
