Thank you for your email of 26 September in which you requested the following
information:
Could you advise if the CVHQs (Central Volunteers Headquarters) are
still active in the Royal Military Police, Royal Corps of Signals, Royal
Engineers, and Adjutant General's Corps? If so, which formation does
each currently fall under after Future Soldier. If these units are not
active, can you advise the following:
1) Date of Disbandment
2) Last location
3) Last formation part of
4) Successor unit (which unit or formation took on the CVHQ role)
I am treating your correspondence as a request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA) 2000. A search for the information has now been completed
within the Ministry of Defence, and I can confirm that some of the information in scope
of your request is held and has been provided below.
Royal Military Police (RMP)
RMP CVHQ was adjusted as part of Army 2020 structural changes over a period of
time between 2012 - 2015, it was previously based at Worthy Down as part of CVHQ
Adjutant General’s Corps.
Function is now fulfilled by a mix of Headquarters Provost Marshall (Army) (part of
Army Headquarters), and Headquarters Adjutant Generals’s Corps (AGC) (part of
Home Command’s Arms & Services branch)
Royal Signals Corps

Formation under Future Soldier: Headquarters Royal Signals, part of Home
Command’s Arms & Services branch
Royal Engineers
No longer exists
Disbandment: 1997,
Last location: Imphal barracks, York
Last formation part of: following a search of our recorded information, I have

Under Section 16 of the Act (Advice and Assistance) you may find it helpful to note
that the Royal Corps of Signals CVHQ is now redesignated Central Reserve HQs
Royal Signals. Royal Engineers CVHQ’s responsibilities came under 29 (Force
Support) Engineer Brigade when disbanded. Adjutant General's Corps CVHQ is now
redesignated Central Reserve HQs AGC.
