Dear N Gibbs

Reference No : DM125/13

Thank you for your application for information concerning Merseyside
Police's customer care policy. This will be dealt with under the terms of
the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within
the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject
to the information not being exempt nor containing a reference to a third
party. In the event that we are not able to achieve this deadline you will
be informed at the earliest opportunity and given a revised time-scale.

There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of
the information you have requested. If this is the case you will be
informed and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we
receive payment from you.

Some requests may also require either full or partial transfer to another
public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible
way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

Yours sincerely,

Mr D May

Merseyside Police

Dear N Gibbs

Response Letter - FOI Application DM125/13 (please quote in all
correspondence)

I write in connection with your request for information which was received
by Merseyside Police on 12/06/2013. I note that you seek access to the
following information:

Please send an electronic copy of the Merseyside police force
customer care policy or equivalent document, e.g. Customer services
charter or professional standards policy relating to interactions
between Merseyside police officers, SOCOs etc and members of the
 public.

A permanent link to a web document will be acceptable.
If no such policy/charter exists locally, please provide the same
details for a national document which applies to the Merseyside
 force.

Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within
Merseyside Police to locate information relevant to your request. I can
confirm that the information that you requested is not held by Merseyside
Police.

To locate the information relevant to your request, searches were
conducted in the Strategic Development Department. The searches located no
records relevant to your request.

Merseyside Police decommissioned its Customer Service policy in October
2011, following a recommendation by the Business Management Group (BMG).
It was concluded that the contents of the Customer Service Policy were a
duplication of information available in other policies and standards, and
that it did not provide information that was not available elsewhere. The
concept of customer service is woven throughout Merseyside Police's
activities and responses.

At the time of writing, Merseyside Police's various policy documents are
temporarily absent from the force's website (www.merseyside.police.uk),
however it is anticipated that they will be available again very soon, and
will appear in the 'Documents' section on the site.

As there is no information held, there is no information to disclose.

details your rights of review and of complaint.

Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write
to or e-mail me at the below address, quoting the reference number above.

Yours sincerely
