Current Schedule of Contracts
Dear Department for Transport,
I would like to request the current “Schedule of Contracts” information from your Procurement Department. I understand that there is a legal requirement for public bodies to compile a register of contracts detailing, but not included to:
• What the contract is for
• Who the contract is with
• The contract value
• The length of the contract
• The start and expiry date of each contact
• Any other supporting information.
Yours faithfully,
C. Graham
Dear C Graham,
I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your request for information which has been allocated reference number P0006890. A response will be issued to you in due course.

For the attention of C Graham
I am currently working on the response to this request and am afraid it is
going to take a little longer to reply that we had hoped. We have been
trying to update the schedule before sending it to you in order that you
may see the most up to date information, so I have only today had the
opportunity to view the final data. Unfortunately it has now become clear
that we need to make some redactions and undertake a public interest test.
This is going to take some time to complete and I estimate we will be 10
days late responding.
Please accept my sincere apologies - I will endeavour to get this to you
as quickly as I am able to.
Kind regards
Sheila

Dear Ms Devine,
Thank you for your reply. I understand the reasons for delay and am very appreciative of the hard work being undertaken to respond to my request.
I have made an identical request to the Driving Standards Agency which was refused as they say DfT will provide me with the information I require - can you confirm this is correct?
Yours sincerely,
C. Graham
Yes I can confirm that this is correct. The DfT response will cover all our executive agencies - you will be able to easily identify which contracts belong to each agency.
Kind regards
Sheila

Dear Ms Devine,
I was wondering how far the collation of the schedule of contracts has progressed?
Yours sincerely,
C. Graham
I am out of the office until Monday 8 November and will reply to your message on my return. If your enquiry is urgent, please contact Deborah Morgan on 020 7944 8484 or Keith Jones on 020 7944 8249.
Many apologies for the delay in responding. This is because we need to get central clearance before we can release the information and this is taking longer than expected. I am following this up as a matter of urgency and hope to be able to send you something in next few days.
Kind regards
Sheila

I am extremely sorry for the continued delay. We are looking at this as a matter of urgency but unfortunately some issues about exemptions to the data are proving quite complex to resolve.
I hope to be able to send you a response shortly.

DfT provided the attached response on 6 January. Following this, we also
published a copy of the Schedule of Contracts on the DfT website.
We recently received an enquiry about the Schedule and, as a result of
this, I am now writing to clarify the following point about the
information we provided:
Some contracts listed in the Schedule of Contracts are Framework
Agreements. These represent an agreement to provide the specified goods
and services only - no commitment is made and no contract exists until an
order is placed. The price listed in the schedule therefore reflects an
estimate of the total cost of orders which may be placed under the
Agreement over its lifetime. Some of these Framework Agreements have been
awarded to a number of different suppliers. In these cases, the
Department's information system repeats the estimated total cost of the
Agreement for each supplier.
A copy of this clarification has also been placed on the website.
Kind regards
Sheila Devine
