I am writing in response to your request for information (ref FOI 6258).
The relevant Council Service(s) has searched for the requested information
and our response is as follows/attached.
1. all agencies on the contract for the supply of social workers,
senior practitioners, assistant team managers, team managers and service
managers (referred to from now as "qualified social work professionals")
to Stockport Council
Stockport Council along with other AGMA ( Association of Greater
Manchester Authorities ) have contracted Comensura to manage the
procurement of agency staff. Comensura work with a wide variety of
agencies managing this process.
2. all agencies currently supplying Stockport Council with agency social
work professionals –
Agencies currently supplying Social Work professionals are Reed Specialist
Recruitment T/A Reed Social Care, Randstad Care Ltd, HBHC Synergy Ltd,
Liquid Personnel, Medicare First Ltd, Hays Social Care and Capita
Resourcing.
3. the total number of qualified social work professionals currently
working on an agency basis Stockport Council –
As at 7/10/12 the total number is 20
4. the number and grade of qualified social work professionals currently
working on an agency basis at Stockport Council by supplier –
Same number as Q3 – The PAYE hourly rate of pay for qualified Social
Workers is £16.00 and £17.50 depending on experience. Rates may be
enhanced where there is Out of Hours work or where a worker has
significant experience. Self-employed rates are also higher.
5. the number and grade of qualified social work professionals currently
working on an agency basis at Stockport Council by department –
Grade question addressed in Q4 – All 20 workers currently work in our
Services to People Directorate.
