REQUEST:

 

Can I please request the current value on the Councils books, of the land
at The Regis Centre and Hothampton Car Park, both in Bognor Regis

 

RESPONSE:

 

Regis Centre Car Park                     = £1,865,000

Regis Centre Site                              = £21,550

Hothampton Car Park                    = £1,527,000

 

The above valuations are those held currently at Arun District Council and
reflect current use and, in respect of the Regis Centre site, the lease
granted, therefore these are not market rate valuations.

 

If you are dissatisfied with the way your request for information has been
handled, you can write asking for a review of the Council’s response,
within the next two months, to the Information Management Team at: Arun

Peter, now ask them if they will sell that land at anything near those figures they have given you. They will not, because, as they've said, that is not the market value. All it is, is a value calculated from the income they are currently receiving from the land, which isn't much. The real value is potential development value which is FAR in excess of what they have said. They could have given you those figures too, but chose not to. Sneaky.
