Current Empty Commercial Properties
"I am undertaking research on behalf of a commercial property agent who specialises in sourcing empty commercial properties for small to medium sized businesses and national, regional and local charities. Could you please therefore provide the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Details of all current empty commercial properties within your authority which includes Shops, Office and Industrial premises, if possible on an excel spreadsheet containing the following information:
Property Billing Reference
Property Type
Rateable Value
Property Vacant Date
Property Address
Liable Party Name
Liable Party Correspondence Address
Due to the Data Protection Act, I understand that where the liable party (account holder) is an individual you will be unable to supply me with their details.
My client has a proven track record of being able to source tenants for landlords and as a result have also been able to assist landlords by ensuring their properties are occupied and therefore less likely to be targeted by vandals, squatters and other criminal activity. This also helps the local economy by bringing new business and employment to the area."

Where a property belongs to an individual or partnership, both the ratepayer’s name and whether the property is empty or occupied are considered to be personal data and exempt from disclosure.
