Dear Lewes District Council,

Please treat this email as a Freedom of Information request.

I would like to receive a copy of the complete current local authority Register of Interest for all elected politicians in a machine-readable spreadsheet format such as a CSV file, including any additional information that may not be published on your website.

If you hold records relating to historical registers of interest for current and former elected politicians I would be grateful if you could also supply them.

I would also like to receive a copy of the complete current local authority Gifts and Hospitality Registers for all elected politicians in a machine-readable spreadsheet format, including any data that may not be published on your website.

If you hold historical records of gifts or hospitality received for current and former elected politicians I would be grateful if you could also supply them.

Lastly, if you hold a separate register of interests that records those declared at meetings, please also supply that register in a machine-readable spreadsheet format. Again, if you hold historical records of declarations that may not be published on your website, please supply details.

I would prefer not to receive the requested information in pdf format files.

If the requested information is published as open data, please could you supply the location where this data can be found.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Yours faithfully,

Ally Tibbitt

Hi,

I can't send personal information through the Mysociety website, which I am using for this request. You can however, see that I am currently an employee of openDemocracy here: https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/team/

You can also see that openDemocracy was recently awarded funding from NESTA, to investigate the scope for combining and publishing Registers of Interest data here: https://www.nesta.org.uk/feature/future-...

This FOI request is part of the research for this project. I'd be most grateful for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Alastair Tibbitt

Dear Mr. Tibbitt,

Re: Information Request: FOI 10829

Thank you for your information request dated 25 February 2020 received in
our office the same day.

I have carefully considered your request and investigated whether there is
any additional information available that is not already publicly
available.

I have determined that the information you have requested is already
publicly available, and therefore under the Freedom of Information Act
(2000), Section 21 (information accessible to applicant by other means)
this information is exempt from requiring further action in order to make
it accessible to you and the general public.

The above exemption specifies that where information is already reasonably
accessible to the applicant there is no duty for the local authority to
provide any additional copy of the material. This may include information
for which a charge applies.

This exemption also requires the local authority to inform you where this
information is available from and how to access it. The details of how to
obtain it are provided below:

I would like to receive a copy of the complete current local authority
Register of Interest for all elected politicians in a machine-readable
spreadsheet format such as a CSV file, including any additional
information that may not be published on your website.

If you hold records relating to historical registers of interest for
current and former elected politicians I would be grateful if you could
also supply them.

I would also like to receive a copy of the complete current local
authority Gifts and Hospitality Registers for all elected politicians in a
machine-readable spreadsheet format, including any data that may not be
published on your website.

All the current Councillors’ registers of interest are on the website,
together with any gifts registered, under each Councillors.    I regret to
inform you that we do not hold this data in a spreadsheet / CSV
format.  This information can be accessed via the following link to our
website –

[1]https://www.lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/

The information is held against the individual Councillors entries.

If you hold historical records of gifts or hospitality received for
current and former elected politicians I would be grateful if you could
also supply them.

We do not hold a record or make public a record of any former Councillors’
registers of interest as soon as they cease to be Councillors.

Lastly, if you hold a separate register of interests that records those
declared at meetings, please also supply that register in a
machine-readable spreadsheet format. Again, if you hold historical records
of declarations that may not be published on your website, please supply
details.

All the information related to declarations made at Committee by current
Councillors is also available under each Councillor’s record on the
website.

All applicants have a 'right of appeal'.  An appeal should be focused on
the original request and should identify how the council’s response failed
to answer your information request.  Appeals must be made in writing (or
e-mail) within 40 working days of receipt of this response and addressed
to the Information Governance Appeals Officer, to the address below.
