George E Fitzgerald

Dear Lancashire County Council,
The Lancashire County Councils owned Short stay referal school located in Burnley, previously known as the ISACC Centre (address below) is no longer in use for educational purposes.
Harrogate Crescent
Burnley
Lancashire
BB10 2NX
I have noticed recently that investigative work involving core sampling has been taking place.
Please advise what is currently happening and what types of development you consider acceptable.
N.B.
There is also an open drain in the grounds adjacent to Harrogate Crescent at the boundary fence at the bottom of the site. Children have been seen playing in the grounds and this is an obvious danger.

Freedom of Information, Lancashire County Council

Dear Mr Fitzgerald

Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Further to your request for information, made under the provisions of the
above Act, please see below our response.

Request:

The Lancashire County Councils owned Short stay referral school located in
Burnley, previously known as the ISACC Centre (address below) is no longer
in use for educational purposes.

Harrogate Crescent

I have noticed recently that investigative work involving core sampling
has been taking place.

Please advise what is currently happening and what types of development
you consider acceptable.

N.B. There is also an open drain in the grounds adjacent to Harrogate
Crescent at the boundary fence at the bottom of the site. Children have
been seen playing in the grounds and this is an obvious danger.

Response:

The site is surplus to requirements and we are getting it ready to put on
the market. We envisage it will be suitable for residential development
and have asked Burnley Borough Council Planners for a statement confirming
that they believe this to be suitable for such a use subject to a formal
application. Prior to marketing we want to give potential purchasers as
much information as possible so we commissioned a ground condition survey
to include with the sale documents which involved the core sampling that
you noticed.

Thank you for the information about the drain. We have checked this out
and taken steps to make sure it is not a danger. If there are any further
matters please contact Phil Jeffrey, our estates surveyor dealing with
this property, on 01772 533881 or [1][email address]

Kind regards
