Dear Conwy County Borough Council,

Two concerned people who were former victims of a crime saw the perpetrator working for CSM security which is a firm the council pay to do security at a variety of events including Eirias Stadium and Venue Cymru.
One victim had her bag searched by the man at Venue Cymru and the other saw him at the Eirias Stadium.
Both were deeply distressed.

The man has a long criminal history including ...

Attempted Arson,
Thefts,
Drink Driving,
Driving whilst disqualified,
And within the last three years has been reported to the police and investigated for domestic abuse, and sending malicious communication.
He has also been reported to the police for sending discriminatory messages via Facebook
He also has a history of drug use and heavy alcohol abuse
He is also deemed a risk to women

The questions are...
1, Does the contract with CSW get monitored by the council?
2, Does the contract include DBS checks?
3, Are standard or enhanced checks done by CSW?

The concerns are that an enhanced DBS would show the vast amount of calls to the police and convictions, however, this man has been allowed to work with children and vulnerable people despite an enhanced DBS that would show he would not be suitable to do so!

Yours faithfully,

Dyffed Rowlands
