Croydon Council Litter Bins

The request was partially successful.

Dear Croydon Borough Council,

I would like to make some enquiries as a Freedom of Information Request into litter bin provisions by the council:

1. How many Council supplied “on-street” litter bins are there currently (in 2021) provided across the borough?

Please provide a summary breakdown of bins by:
• Ward
• Type

2. Please can the council supply an asset register of all litter bins (in Excel format) providing the following information:

• Bin/System identifier
• Street Address/Location
• Post Code
• Ward
• Type of bin, e.g. Big Belly, Plastic single, Dual/Recycling, Pole-mounted
• Date of installation (if known)
• GPS Coordinates (where known)

3. What system does the council use to manage its register of litter bins?

4. How many Council provided bins are there currently (in 2021) within Parks and green spaces across the borough?

5. How many litter bins have been removed across the borough at the instigation of the council since 2018? Please provide reasons for the removal of all bins.

6. How many litter bins have been reported as being removed/stolen by 3rd parties, since 2018?

7. How many on-street litter bins of each type (big-belly, Round plastic, etc) does the council currently hold “in-stock” at depots, warehouses or other storage facilities?

Yours faithfully,

Mr T Hooker
