CRITERIA used in assessing planning applications for "AFFORDABLE HOUSING"

The request was successful.

Dear Valuation Office Agency,
Please answer the following questions regarding the criteria that you use in order to assess the proportion of "Affordable Housing" that is viable within Planning Applications, on behalf of Local Authorities and other Public Organisations:-
1. Who carries out such assessments on behalf of Local Authorities and other Public Bodies?
2. What criteria are used when making an assessment of whether the Plans can meet the proportion of "Affordable Housing" set by the Local Authority within housing plans/mixed developments?
3. To what extent do the V.O.A. consider the Local Plans (e.g. City Plan, District Plan) set out by the Local Authority and that of the Planning Inspectorate/Government Inspector?
4. What consideration is given to the income that Developers will gain from Rents/Ground Rents/Service Charges and other means from Long-Leasehold Homes, Shared Ownership Homes and Commercial arrangements?

Yours faithfully,

Rob Heale
