Cleveland Police

Dear Ms Russell,

Enquiry Ref: 2017/8944

I write in connection with your request for information dated 14th September 2017 which was received by Cleveland Police on that date. I note you seek access to the information detailed below.

I would like to know the number of crime reports (2016 only) you have received for:

1) Theft of Motor Vehicle – (Home Office Classification 48/1)

2) Theft from Motor Vehicle – (Home Office Classification 45/10)
where the Make is recorded as 'Ford' but the Model field is blank on your system.

We have made enquiries within the force and must advise you that this information is recorded and held by financial year as that is how it is required by the Home Office.

Following a search by the analysts we can advise that between 1st April 2016 and 31st March 2017 there was one crime report for the theft of a vehicle where the make was recorded as 'Ford' but the Model field is blank on your system. This was in relation to ‘Theft from a Vehicle’ and it occurred in 2016.

The Cleveland Police response to your request is unique and it should be noted that not all Forces record and hold information in the same format therefore responses from Cleveland Police should not be used as a comparison with any other force response you receive.

If you are not satisfied with this response or any actions taken in dealing with your request you have the right to request an independent internal review of your case under our review procedure. The APP College of Policing guidance states that a request for internal review should be made within 20 working days of the date on this response unless extenuating circumstances to account for the delay can be evidenced.

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact this office on 01642 306825 or 01642 306832.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs M Cuthbert
