Dear Mrs Thompson,

I refer to your request for information, which was received on 16th
October, 2011 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000.

The specific information you requested was as follows:

"1. Please supply me with Carmarthenshire Council's credit card spending
details for the past two years. Please include all details which will
enable me to identify dates, the supplier, the department to which the
expenditure relates, items purchased and purpose of the purchase.

2. Please supply the number of credit cards issued and how many are
allocated to each department/individuals as appropriate.

3. Please also supply me with the total amount of interest on the credit
card account paid by Carmarthenshire Council per annum, for the past two
years"

In response, the Council does not issue individual members of staff or
elected members with credit or purchasing cards.

The Council does have one corporate credit card which is used for
purchases and pre-booking travel. No interest is, or has been payable.

Where there are no figures entered in the 2011 spreadsheet in the
"credit card bill" column, this is because the entries have yet to be
included in the credit card statement received by the Council.

Finally, the purpose of each purchase is not recorded centrally.
