I have dealt with your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
("the Act")

The Department of Education (DfE) only covers England, so you will need to
contact Education Authorities in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland for
information about qualifications offered in their countries. Their contact
details are: for Northern Ireland [1][email address] , and for
Wales, [2][email address] .The general contact email
address that covers all departments in Scotland, is
[3][email address]

As far as questions 1, 2, 3 and 4 are concerned, the DfE does not hold the
information you requested for questions 1, 2, 3 and 4. However, the
information for questions 1, 2, and 4 is held by the Qualifications and
Curriculum Development agency (QCDA). I suggest that you make a new
request to that organisation. Their email contact details are
[4][email address].

We do not hold any data in response to question 3.

On question 5, please see the attached list of media courses along with
the relevant awarding body (exam boards) for schools in England.
Information on current and expired qualifications by subject and awarding
bodies is available on Ofqual's Register of Regulated Qualifications at

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me. Please
remember to quote the reference number above in any future
communications.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you should

months of the date of this letter. Your complaint will be considered by

Dear Ms Easey

This FOI case was answered on Echo on 9/2/2011. The majority of the

QCDA who held the information. I did include QCDA contact details in the

Hope this is helpful.
