I can confirm that the council holds the information you requested which is as follows:

1. How did you distribute the COVID Winter Grant to vulnerable families, i.e. cash, food parcels or retail supermarket vouchers?

Wiltshire Council used a range of methods to distribute the grant to vulnerable families:

Allocation to Schools, Early Years Settings, Childcare providers & Children’s Centres for them to distribute to those eligible for FSM or equivalent support due to financial needs through their voucher systems

Provision of Post Office Payout vouchers for fuel top-up

Allocation to third party organisations for provision of food & fuel support to vulnerable families and individuals including vouchers & food parcels

Allocation to relevant Council services for provision of food/fuel support to vulnerable service users utilising existing payment methods

2. Did you use this grant to distribute financial support to families of children eligible for Free School Meals?

Yes

3. How many children were eligible for Free School Meals and how many children claimed financial support via the grant scheme?

9133 children were eligible for FSM payments, claims from individual families were not required, payments were made direct to families via schools.

The Covid Winter Grant has now ended.

The Government has provided additional funding for the period 17/4 – 20/6; during this period we will allocate a proportion of the grant to supporting FSM eligible children via schools

As a Council, we do not anticipate purchasing vouchers

7. Which role(s) and job functions manage the contract for this service?

We do not have a contract for the purchase of FSM vouchers under the Covid Winter Grant Scheme or Covid Local Grant Scheme
