6. If Government funding or a grant extension is not in place for May half-term or summer holidays, will you continue to operate and fund the scheme?

Thank you for your information request dated and received 20^th April
2021, our ref: 35066. This is being dealt with in terms of the Freedom of
Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

I refer to your information request dated and received 20^th April 2021,
our ref: 35066. Please find the request and Fife Council’s response below.

1. How did you distribute the COVID Winter Grant to vulnerable families,
i.e. cash, food parcels or retail supermarket vouchers?

Cash payment by BACS.

2. Did you use this grant to distribute financial support to families of
children eligible for free school meals?

Yes.

3. How many children were eligible for Free School Meals and how many
children claimed financial support via the grant scheme?

There was no requirement to claim, payments were issued to all eligible
for Free School Meals, which was 11,049.

4. Did you use the grant to distribute support to other vulnerable
families / individuals and if so, which groups, i.e. homeless etc.?

Scottish Winter payment funding was provided by Scottish Government for
those entitled to Free School Meals. 

5. If using supermarket vouchers…

N/a.

6. If Government funding or a grant extension is not in place for May
half-term or summer holidays, will you continue to operate and fund the
scheme?

Funding for the Family Pandemic Payment to be paid this summer has been
agreed by the Scottish Government.

7. Which role(s) and job functions manage the contract for this service?

Funding in Scotland has been provided by Scottish Government and
administered by local authorities who have made BACS payments.
