Alan Brown made this Freedom of Information request to Education Scotland

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Education Scotland should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Education Scotland,

I have a daughter at Mearns Academy in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire. Can you let me know if any arrangements are in place to roll out a Covid-19 / Flu vaccine program?

Also, will there be parental consent before any such program?

Yours faithfully,
Alan Brown

Dear Education Scotland,

Many thanks for your response.

The Scottish Government states that: "In accordance with JCVI guidance the Scottish Government have no plans at present to vaccinate citizens under 16 years old; therefore parental consent is not required."

Please advise if the Scottish Government will contact the parents of citizens under 16 years old before carrying out Covid vaccinations at any point in the future.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Brown

Dear Education Scotland,

Please advise if the Scottish Government will contact the parents of citizens under 16 years old before carrying out Covid vaccinations at any point in the future. Will non-consensual vaccination prorgrammes be undertaken in secondary schools in Scotland?

I have requested this information

Dear Alan Brown
Your subject header relates to a request for an Internal Review of an FOI which Education Scotland did not carry out in the first instance, therefore we are unable to review the response. If you wish a previous FOI to be reviewed which was answered by the Scottish Government could you please direct your request to the Public engagement unit (PEU) (copied in for ease) - in that request could you please stipulate the FOI case number from the response you received so they can easily track the correct FOI.

If you wish to make a new FOI request relating to the question below, again could you direct this to the PEU as these questions do not fall within the remit of ES so we would need to ask our SG colleagues to reply .

As I am unsure whether your request is a new FOI request or a review I am unable to provide any further assistance.

Kind regards
Education Scotland
Governance and Information team.
