Covid 19

We're waiting for Mrs Smith to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Royal Mail Group Limited,

Due to Covid 19 I understand numerous staff are sick and others are self isolating. Numerous deliveries throughout the UK are failing on a daily basis which is understandable.

Ofcom have given a statement concerning Royal Mails USO licence.

"Throughout this period, we have continued to monitor Royal Mail’s performance, including
requesting information about how Covid-19 is impacting on its ability to provide its services at levels required by our regulations. In doing so, we are operating within our statutory duties, including promoting the interests of citizens and consumers and securing the sustainability of the universal
service."

Is Royal Mail monitoring its own performance during these times? Are managers recording each and every delivery route which has failed to go out on delivery on any given day? Are managers recording the amount of mail which has failed to be delivered on any given day?

Customer Service Points
Royal Mail at present only opens customer service points between 7am and 9am, why? Customer service points normally have protective windows and parcels are handed out through a small hatch. By only opening for two hours you are in requiring large amounts of people to come to the delivery office during a small time window. Many of these delivery offices including my own have parking for no more than 3 or 4 cars. Restrictions of covid 19 have been relaxed. When can we expect Customer Service hours to resume to normal?

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Smith

irgt, Royal Mail Group Limited

Dear Mrs Smith,

I am writing in response to your recent Freedom of Information request.

Following the flotation of Royal Mail on the London Stock Exchange in October 2013, it is no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Royal Mail was previously subject to the Act because it was wholly owned by the government. However, now that the government has sold its shares in Royal Mail, this is no longer the case. Therefore, we are no longer obliged to respond to requests for information under the terms of the FOI Act.
