1) As of 11 April 2021, how many complaints has the BBC received relating to the coverage of the death of Prince Philip?

2) Of these complaints, how may relate to what might be called excessive coverage?

3) Please supply any analysis made of the nature of these complaints.

4) Please supply any decisions made in the light of these complaints and the analysis of them.

5) Please supply any documents that clarify plans and decisions made in preparation for the the death of the Prince that relate to suspension of normal programming.

6) Please supply documents that record decisions made relating to changes to normal programing after the news of the Prince's death emerged.

In particular, I wish to understand at what level decisions were made.

The information requested includes but is not limited to guidance, memos, minutes and emails.

Thank you for your reply on April 23rd.

I note that the link you provided leads to a page with no meaningful information about the complaints received by the BBC relating to the death of Prince Philip.

I asked questions that are distinct from journalism, or art and literature.

And while the FOI make certain exemptions, as your reply states, the BBC seeks to be open and accountable.

The complaints I asked about also related to alterations in scheduling.

I therefore ask now for:

1) The most up to date analysis of complaints received by the BBC relating its response to the death of Prince Philip and any reports submitted to managers or the governing body of the BBC.

2) The policy decisions made in advance of the death of Prince Philip relating to changes in scheduling and the rationale for depriving licence payers of many hours of scheduled programs.

The information requested includes but is not limited to guidance, memos, minutes and emails.

Thank you for your reply received today via What Do They Know.

As your reply did not deal with the way programmes were rescheduled, I began a complaint to the Information Commissioner.

However, this cannot proceed until I have asked the BBC to undertake an internal review of my rejected request.

Please either conduct a review or re-confirm that you have no plans to undertake one

Thank you for your prompt but further unhelpful reply.

I have submitted a complaint to the ICO about the BBC using "journalism" to avoid answering questions about managerial decisions relating to drastic changes in scheduling.
