Councils use of Employment Agencies

The request was successful.

Dear Hartlepool Council,

It has come to my attention that Hartlepool Borough Council paid around £167,000 for the procurement of an Interim Director of Public Health onto which it has been claimed that at least £60,000 of Tax Payers money went towards the fees of an employment agency who recruited the candidate.

As the costs of the employment of one single Interim employee exceeded even the basic salary of the Chief Executive Officer & as such the amount of money spent on the employment of a single officer is in the scope of significant public interest, could Hartlepool Borough Council please declare the name of the Employment Agency used to recruit the candidate ?

Yours faithfully,

James Barker
