Dear Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council,
I am writing to ascertain the following:
Do councillors draw their allowances when they are unable to fulfill their duties, e.g. when ill or abroad on holiday?
Do councillors have to provide a sick note when absent due to illness?
If a councillor can only fulfill partial duties, are the allowances paid pro rata, in view of the current economic climate to save money in every aspect of council activity?
How many councillors have been unable to fulfill their duties and provided sick notes in the last 12 (twelve ) months?
