Council tax summons list

Kirsty Eccles made this Freedom of Information request to HM Courts and Tribunals Service This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

HM Courts and Tribunals Service did not have the information requested.

Dear Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service,

I have been informed by my local authority that a list containing my name and the names of 120 others (for non payment of council tax) was signed by a clerk to the Magistrates court and subsequently, summonses were issued by the council.

Please provide me with a copy of legislation that permits the courts to bypass the law that states that each case should be analysed individualy and judged on its own merits which is the case here.

Yours faithfully,

Kirsty Eccles

Dear Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service's handling of my FOI request 'Council tax summons list'.

You completely ignored the part of my foi request that stated.....

"Please provide me with a copy of legislation that permits the courts to bypass the law that states that each case should be analysed individualy and judged on its own merits..."

Please provide me with a copy of the legislation I requested.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Kirsty Eccles

Dear Data Access & Compliance Unit,

In your response you stated that the MoJ does not hold
information that allows for the bypassing of the law. This is because there is no such legislation.

Why then do you allow it to happen nationwide?

Yours sincerely,

Kirsty Eccles
