Council tax on empty homes and second homes in 2009-2018

The request was successful.

Dear Sirs,

I am a researcher in Economics at University College London.

For my research, I would need the council tax discount/premium on second homes, on homes empty for longer than 6 months and homes empty for longer than 2 years as a percentage of the standard council tax in your council from 2009 to 2018.

The following link contains an excel template of the exact information I would need for my research:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...

Could you please send me an excel file that replicates the template with the tax premium/discounts applied in your council?

Yours sincerely,
Enrico Miglino

Dear Sirs,

The information is incorrect. I am not interested in the number of properties, I am intersted in the tax discounts/premium.
More precisely, the following is all the information I would need.
For each year from 2009 to 2018:
1) the council tax on second homes, as a percentage of the standard council tax rate
2) the council tax on homes empty for longer than 6 months, as a percentage of the standard council tax rate
3) the council tax on homes empty for longer than 2 years, as a percentage of the standard council tax rate.

Let me know if you have any other question.
Yours sincerely,

Enrico Miglino

Dear Sir,

can you confirm that the council tax on homes empty for longer than 6 months, as a
percentage of the standard council tax rate, has remained at 95% charge for all the years from 2009 to 2018?

Thank you for your patience.

Yours sincerely,

Enrico Miglino

Good afternoon,

For clarification purposes, those properties that are empty, unfurnished
and have been so for in excess of 6 months (Long Term Empties) as
categorised for ‘New Homes Bonus’ purposes 2011 onwards) are charged at
100% liability rate. After one month until 24 months, when they are
charged at a premium rate.

Between 2009 and 1^st April 2011 the standard charge on properties having
been empty in excess of 6 months was 50%.

I hope this is sufficient and meets your requirements.

Kind regards
