Council tax on empty homes and second homes in 2009-2018

Enrico Miglino made this Freedom of Information request to Hertsmere Borough Council as part of a batch sent to 411 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Sirs,

I am a researcher in Economics at University College London.

For my research, I would need the council tax discount/premium on second homes, on homes empty for longer than 6 months and homes empty for longer than 2 years as a percentage of the standard council tax in your council from 2009 to 2018.

The following link contains an excel template of the exact information I would need for my research:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...

Could you please send me an excel file that replicates the template with the tax premium/discounts applied in your council?

Yours sincerely,
Enrico Miglino

Dear Enrico Miglino,

Further to your e-mail where you have asked about the period prior to
2013, I have now attached a spreadsheet which includes the dates back to
2009.

Apologies for not providing previously  - this is because prior to 2013,
there were regulations that dictated what exemptions / discounts a local
authority could give so this information would have been in the public
domain.

Thanks
