Dear FOI,

Thank you for providing a Notice of a Liability Order but I require a copy of the actual Liability Order granted by the Magistrates Court. Can you please also confirm does the Magistrates Court seal the Liability Order with a court seal.

Yours sincerely,

mary glister

FOI, Stoke on Trent City Council

Dear Ms Glister

Thank you for your email. Our officers have provided the following explanation:-

"We obtain Liability Orders as part of a bulk application listing all accounts/individuals who have received a summons for non-payment of Council Tax and have a balance outstanding at the time of the hearing. At the Court hearing the Magistrate then signs a certificate/court list to confirm the orders are granted. The liability orders are generated by the Authority but not individually sealed with a court seal."

Kind regards
