Pat James (Account suspended) made this Freedom of Information request to National Audit Office

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by National Audit Office.

Pat James (Account suspended)

Dear National Audit Office, Comptroller and Auditor General, I make the following freedom of information request:

Background

The enforcement of Council Tax within the United Kingdom is generally acknowledged as unfair and an affront to justice, This state of affairs has arisen from the diverse interpretation and application of Part IV of the Council Tax (Administration and Enforcement) Regulations 1992, together with maladministration by both Local Authorities and Her Majesties Courts and Tribunal Service in the conduct of the liability process.

The Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 provides remedy for inconsistency and nonconformity by the issue of Codes of Practice for the audit of such processes and functions, to ensure quality and equality of application.

Please provide or direct me to, the relevant Codes of Practice pertaining to the interpretation and application of Part IV of the Council Tax (Administration and Enforcement) Regulations 1992.

Yours faithfully,

Pat James

Dear FOI, REQUESTS, it is clear to me that you have not addressed my FOI request:

"The enforcement of Council Tax within the United Kingdom is generally acknowledged as unfair and an affront to justice, This state of affairs has arisen from the diverse interpretation and application of Part IV of the Council Tax (Administration and Enforcement) Regulations 1992, together with maladministration by both Local Authorities and Her Majesties Courts and Tribunal Service in the conduct of the liability process.

Please state the lawful exemption you are citing in your response as the legislation I quoted defines a clear requirement where there is ambiguity or scope for misinterpretation of legislative requirements..

Yours sincerely,

Pat James
