Council Tax Data

The request was refused by Blackpool Borough Council.

Matthew Settle

Dear Blackpool Borough Council,

Please can you provide me with a list of dwellings for which you are currently charging a premium of council tax as they have been empty for more than 2 years?

Please provide the address of the dwelling and the level of premium you are charging.

For the avoidance of doubt, I don't require the bill payers' details.

Yours faithfully,

Matthew Settle

FOI, Blackpool Borough Council

Dear Blackpool Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Blackpool Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'Council Tax Data'.

I note you have refused my request under Section 31(1)(a) of the Act as the council believes if the information requested was released into the public domain it could be used to commit crime and anti-social behaviour.

Please can you confirm on what basis the council believes that my request differs from my request of 21st February 2022 in relation to empty commercial property information? You will note that the council provided the addresses of these properties.

If the council's argument is that Section 31(1)(a) applies to residential empty properties please can it confirm on what basis it believes it doesn't apply to commercial empty properties?

I look forward to you conducting an internal review and providing the information originally requested.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Matthew Settle
