Dear Ms Davies,
Thank you for your request for information, which was received on 28^th
April, 2017 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.
The specific information you requested was as follows:
In the 2016/17 financial year, what was the range (highest and lowest) and
the mean (average) weekly repayment amount agreed with debtors a) In cases
not yet referred to a debt collection agency (bailiff) and b) In cases
returned to the Council for further action after unsuccessful attempts by
bailiffs to secure payment.
In response, we do not hold information relevant to your request.
The agreement, payment and non-payment of arrears is a fluid environment
with agreements being varied as circumstances change. Due consideration is
always given to repayment amounts on a case by case basis whilst
considering all factors. Factors considered will include the size of the
debt, whether the debt is summonsed or not and means to pay amongst other
criteria.
Yours sincerely
John Tillman

Dear Carmarthenshire Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Carmarthenshire Council's handling of my FOI request 'Council Tax arrears payment arrangements'.
According to John Tillman the authority does not hold information about the monthly repayments made by council tax debtors to his department in 2016/17. I find this unlikely to say the least and suggest that Mr Tillman simply does not wish to provide the information.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...
Yours faithfully,
Lucy Davies
I write further to your email of the 20^th May in which you requested an
internal review of the Council’s original response in this matter. This
has now been passed to me to deal with.
I have already made contact with the authority’s Council Tax department
and will aim to get back to you with a detailed response by the 30^th June
at the latest.
Yours sincerely
