Council Tax
Dear Manchester City Council,
I make this request under Freedom of Information legislation.
I would like to request the following for the close of the
financial years 2008/9, 2009/10 and 2010/11:
a) The total tax revenue from Residential Council Tax that should have been collected (note, I am not requesting how much was collected) had all due debts had been paid; and
b) The total revenue that had not been collected by the Council; and
c) The total sums that have either been transferred to third party
(non-council) debt collection agencies or which have been deemed unenforceable (aka ‘written off’) and no further collection activities will be undertaken.
I do not believe this request will breach the statutory cost limits but, without prejudice to my further appeal rights if you deem otherwise I request you provide as much information as possible within the statutory limits and place priority on both (c) and the figures for the last two financial years first.
I look forward to your prompt response or, at the very latest, a response within 20 working days.
Yours faithfully,
Leigh Milner
