Bleddyn ap Dafydd

Dear Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council,

I write about the amount of reserves held by your council and would be grateful if you could tell me the following:

1. How much was held by your council in earmarked reserves in 2016-17 and 2017-18?

2. How many times did your council use its earmarked reserves in 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Yours faithfully,

Bleddyn ap Dafydd

Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council

Dear Mr Bleddyn ap Dafydd,

In response to your Freedom of Information request, please see our
response below:

I can confirm that Blaenau Gwent Council does hold the information
requested. Under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we are
not required to provide information in response to a request if it is
already reasonably accessible by other means.

All requested information prior to 2017/2018  is already in the public
domain and can be found in the Council’s annual statement of accounts –
which can be found on the Council’s website under Council/budgets and
spending:

[1]http://www.blaenau-gwent.gov.uk/council/...

Information for 2017/2018 has not been published yet, as the accounts have
not been closed.

In relation to the second point – examination of the statement of accounts
will indicate if any particular earmarked reserve was used –  if this is
the case, the reserve would have been used once in that particular year to
fund the relevant expenditure.

Again, information for 2017/2018 has not been published yet.

I hope this is of assistance to you and if you have any queries please
don’t hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards

FOI Team
