Council-owned trees

Tom Chance made this Freedom of Information request to Bromley Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Bromley Borough Council,

Environmental Information Regulations / INSPIRE regulations data request.

Please could you provide me with a data download of trees you own? Please include:

* the co-ordinates for each data point, either in lat/long or Easting/Northing.
* all data fields held by the council for each tree, such as
species, height and condition

I would prefer the data to be in a standard GIS format such as a shapefile if possible, or failing that a CSV file. Please do not supply this as a PDF.

Yours faithfully,

Tom Chance

Dear Mr Chance,

I am not sure if you have already had communication with our Principal
Tree Officer regarding your FOI.  The information below can be provided as
a shapefile as requested, however the size of these files makes them too
large for us to send as attachments.

If you have the relevant software which can convert the information the
data can be provided as smaller sized text files.

I would be grateful if you could let me know whether text files are
suitable, or to make contact regarding the arrangement of how the larger
shapefile may be provided to you.

Kind regards

Jonathan

Dear Jonathan,

Thanks for the reply. I would be happy with a collection of CSV files if they included the lat/lon of each tree, if that helps? Otherwise, if possible, you could post the data to me at:

Flat 2, 10 Versailles Road, London, SE20 8AX

Yours sincerely,

Tom Chance
