Council Owned Trees

The request was successful.

Dear Ealing Borough Council,

Please could you provide a data download of all of the trees which are currently owned / maintained by Ealing Borough Council.

It would be helpful if you could include the following data:
* the co-ordinates for each data point, either in lat/long or Easting/Northing.
* all data fields held by the council for each tree, such as species, common name, height, condition, age and site / street (if applicable).

The preferred format would be either a GIS shapefile (zipped file containing .shp .dbf .shx & .prj files) or .xlsx / .csv

Yours faithfully,

Harry Carnegie

Dear FOI Team,

I believe that my request should have been handled under The Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR) and hence the Section 43 exemption does not apply.

Also please note that there is an existing precedent of councils disclosing this information, for example:
Islington Borough Council:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/l...
Camden Borough Council:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...
Lewisham Borough Council:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Considering the above, I would be grateful if you could revisit my request.

Yours sincerely,

Harry Carnegie

Dear Mr Carnegie,

Further to your telephone call to Ms Mercer, we have had confirmation from the service area that the final date for tender applications is 9th November 2015.

They will try to extract the data week effective 16th November, but please note it takes about six hours to extract this information and there have been instances of the system crashing during this procedure. Therefore it may not be possible to get this information through to you at that time.

Kind regards,
FOI Team
