Dear Jon Parker-Dean
Thank you for your request for information of 20 July 2023 which has been logged as RFI 6916 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We confirm that Cheshire West and Chester Council holds information relating to your request.
For the purpose of clarity your request has been reproduced below:
How many council owned, public football pitches do you currently operate (latest figures available)
* Ellesmere Port Sports Village - 1 x Full Size 3G Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP)
* Neston High School - 1 x Full Size 3G AGP / 1 x Full Size All Weather Pitch (AWP) / 3 x Full Size Adult Grass pitches/ 3 x Junior grass Pitches
* Moss Farm Leisure Complex - 7 x Full Adult Grass football pitches / 1 x Full size AWP
* Frodsham Leisure Centre- 1 x Full size AWP
* Christleton High School - 1 x Full size AWP
How many council owned, public football pitches were sold, or closed, from the financial year 2017/2018 to the present date?
* Moss Farm Leisure Complex: AWP closed for public hire from April 2020. Originally closed it through Covid, but it never reopened due to its deteriorating condition and any monies spent could have been abortive due to the wider discussion about the longer-term investment into this site.
* Moss Farm Leisure Complex: 1 x grass pitch closed in July 2023 for extensive maintenance work. The work will be completed by the second week of September, there is a 12-month establishment period as the surface will be completely stripped back and regraded so the pitch will remain fenced off until summer 2024.
We trust this answers your query.
