Council of Mortgage Lenders - Likely Effect of Increased Student Debt on Mortgage Eligibility
Dear Department for Business, Innovation and Skills,
Could you please release, in full, all correspondence to the Department for Business Innovation and Skills from the Council of Mortgage Lenders(CML) on the subject of the anticipated effect of a rise in student debt on individuals' ability to obtain a mortgage. I am seeking only correspondence received since the current government came into power.
The existence of a letter from CML to Minister Vince Cable has been revealed in an article in the Independent [1], and a recent written written answer from Minister David Willetts [2] has shown that Ministers have been made aware of CML advice.
