Council house EPC ratings & MEES

The request was successful.

Climate Emergency UK

Dear Vale of White Horse District Council,

Please treat this as a Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulations request.

I would like information about your council’s homes and MEES enforcements in relation to climate action for the Council Climate Action Scorecards. This information may be held by a housing department or similar.

In particular, please supply me with information relating to the following questions:

1. What is the energy efficiency of the council's homes (managed or owned by the council)? Please provide either a distribution table with the number of buildings for each EPC rating or the percentage of the council’s homes that have received an EPC rating of C or above.

2. What is the number of investigations, enforcement notices and enforcement actions that the council did, related to MEES (Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards) in the 2021/22 financial year.

Where data is available separately for each statistic please provide separately. If only some information is available, please give me that information.

I would prefer to receive information in a machine readable format, such as CSV files for data, where possible.

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Yours faithfully,

Hannah Jewell, Climate Emergency UK

Dear Hannah Jewell

Thank you for your requests for information under the Environmental
Information Regulations (2004), which were received by both South
Oxfordshire District Council (logged under 22/1236 SOUTH) and Vale of
White Horse District Council (logged under 22/1132 VALE).  Please note
that the two councils operate as a shared service hence this joint
response.

Under Part 2 Regulation 5 of the Environmental Information Regulations
2004, you are entitled to information which is in the authority’s
possession or is held by another person on behalf of the authority unless
any exceptions apply (Part 3 Regulation 12). I have considered your
request and can confirm we do hold some of the information asked and I do
not believe any of the statutory exemptions apply to your request. Please
find below the information you requested (where available):

Please treat this as a Freedom of Information/Environmental Information

in relation to climate action for the Council Climate Action Scorecards.
This information may be held by a housing department or similar.

In particular, please supply me with information relating to the following

by the council)? Please provide either a distribution table with the

The District Councils are not responsible for homes. South Oxfordshire
District Council transferred ownership of its housing stock to SOHA in
July 1997 under a Large-Scale Voluntary Transfer agreement and Vale of
White Horse District Council ownership of its housing stock to Vale
Housing Association in February 1995 under a Large-Scale Voluntary
Transfer agreement. Vale Housing Association merged with Sovereign Housing
in 2007.

 2. What is the number of investigations, enforcement notices and
enforcement actions that the council did, related to MEES (Minimum
Energy Efficiency Standards) in the 2021/22 financial year.

Zero
