Council funding £14 million for the i360 tower.

James Plant made this Freedom of Information request to Brighton and Hove City Council This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Brighton and Hove City Council,

Please supply all E-Mails, letters, and documents concerning the decision of the council to "loan" £14 million to the developer of the 360itower.

What opinions have been sought, or obtained, to establish the extent of the risk involved with the repayment of this amount in full? Has any doubt been expressed about the ability of the concern to repay this in full?

Has an opinion been sought as to the legality of public money being used for this purpose?

What are the terms of the "loan"? Are these of a commercial nature?

Are there any relationships, or associations, between councillors, or employees, of the council of whatever nature and the concern, or people, who are involved in this project?

Yours faithfully,

James Plant.

Freedom Of Information, Brighton and Hove City Council
