They're not telling you - how predictable

Dear Independent Police Complaints Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Independent Police Complaints Commission's handling of my FOI request 'Could I have the list of IPCC Investigators and Supervisors and if they are ex Police Officers'.

I do not think making almost everyone exempt is answering this question and yes it is in the public interest to know. A number on those exempt would be sufficient, so a percentage could be worked out. At the moment the majority of the couple of handfuls disclosed are ex-Police; making the "Independent" part of IPCC investigations extremely questionable.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Dear Colin Woodward,

Thank you for your reply and the information you provided, I understand the need for privacy. However by telling me all Senior Investigators are ex Police Service at that rank level the need for privacy is somewhat negated as 9 out of 9 people who lead and oversea the Investigational part of the IPCC are ex Police. This also strongly undermines the Independent part of the IPCC name.

Thank you for replying.

Yours sincerely,

Philip Reynolds
