Please could you let me know the annual costs incurred by BHCC in processing FOI requests since 2005.

If possible the names of the bodies who have sent the most FOI requests and the costs incurred.

Thank you

We do not hold this information as FOI requests are dealt with by numerous members of staff, at various levels of seniority, across the organisation and their time is not counted when providing a response. For the previous three years we have received over 1000 requests per year and the FOI Act stipulates that we can spend up to 18 hours per request answering them. Some requests take minutes but other requests can take many hours involving a number of staff, this information is not recorded so we cannot calculate the annual costs incurred. We also spend time conducting Internal Reviews and liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office when appropriate. However, we do have one member of staff who works full-time on processing requests and they are NCJ pay-scale 5.
