Dear Dr Davey

I am now able to respond to your Freedom of Information request logged on
3^rd April under reference 338491.

How much are zone wardens (who clear litter, address fly-tipping, etc)
paid annually?

Zone Operative:                   Salary scale: £16,302.45 to £17,288.77

Senior Zone Operative:      Salary scale: £16,497.81 to £19,552.09

Zone Warden:                      Salary scale: £22,384.54 to £28,558.83

The above figures are for 2016/17; a 1% salary increase has been agreed
for 2017/18.

How much does it cost to pay private contractors annually to address
fly-tipping, etc?

External contractors are not used for street-cleaning generally or for the
removal of fly-tips.  This work is done by Zone Operatives. Education and
the enforcement of litter and fly-tipping laws are among the tasks
undertaken by Wardens as part of the support they offer to their
communities.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding this request
please contact me again quoting the reference given above.

Yours sincerely

Thank you for your response. I was just wondering, how much does it cost to clear litter and fly-tipped waste annually? (i.e. including warden costs, equipment, etc).

Yours sincerely,
